Electrical incidents are more common than you might think, with over 800 Victorians affected by electrical faults every year. This highlights the critical importance of professional safety inspections to prevent potential hazards.

Since March 2021, the Residential Tenancies Act in Victoria requires regular electrical safety compliance checks. Our team ensures all your electrical appliances, installations, and fittings are safe and compliant with the latest state regulations.

Residential Tenancy Act 1 Legislation Victoria

As of March 29, 2021, changes to the Victorian Residential Tenancy Act 1997 introduced specific electrical safety and compliance requirements for all property owners and managers in Victoria. Under this legislation, owners are legally obligated to conduct regular professional electrical safety checks as part of their duty of care to tenants.

The law mandates that property owners complete bi-annual gas and electrical safety checks, carried out by licensed professionals. A thorough electrical inspection includes not only an assessment of the switchboard but also a detailed inspection of all fittings, installations, and appliances across your property.

To ensure your property meets these standards, contact the Bidiri Electrical team today for comprehensive electrical inspections throughout Melbourne.
